Chapter One: A History & Band Roster

Today's 19th Century Band

T

he Frontier Brigade Band endeavors to take our audiences back in time by authentically portraying bands of The American Brass Band Movement (1840-1880) and The Golden Age of American Bands (1880-1920). Founded in 2000, the North Texas Non-Profit organization has over 30 members.

Whether dressed in the uniform of the Military or Town bands of the 19th Century, or wearing the red coats and blue shakos of the Civil War era Marine Band, or the western attire of Buffalo Bill’s Famous Cowboy Band, we strive to accurately recreate the concerts of a bygone era. The event is enhanced by the use of appropriate props and set pieces, and by performing the original surviving musical arrangements on reproduction musical instruments of the time.
